Access to the Matanuska Glacier
Unless you use a helicopter, the Matanuska Glacier is only accessible through the private Glacier Park. This land was homesteaded years ago and the visionary landowner built a road to access the glacier. In those days he put up a toll booth and charged $5 a car load.
Times have changed, but we still collect the Glacier Access Fee on behalf of the land owners unless you do one of our helicopter tours. You will pay this fee when you check in for your tour with us. For 2026 we have heard that the per person rates will be:
Adults (14 and over): $55
Children (13 and younger): $40
These rates are not within our control and are subject to change at any time. You will be responsible for the applicable rate on the day of your trip, irregardless of what is posted here on our website.
No National or State Park Passes are valid for entry. This is private land.
