How Did That Happen?

A guiding company doing weddings? That’s us! And how did it happen? Well… like most good things: someone asked if it was possible. And, what a possibility it has become.

When couples first started asking, we thought, ‘Why not?’ We already spend our days helping people explore Alaska’s wildest landscapes, guiding them safely over the Matanuska Glacier. Why not guide them to one of the most important moments of their lives, too?

Adventure Meets “I Do”

Enter the MICA Guides micro-wedding experience. Imagine this: you, your person, a handful of guests (or maybe just the two of you), and the kind of backdrop that most people only see in travel magazines. We provide the logistics, the safety, the gear, and the local knowledge — so you can focus on each other and the adventure.

Our couples get a front-row seat to Alaska at its most dramatic. Helicopters, glaciers, crisp mountain air — it’s a day that’s part adrenaline, part awe, and all unforgettable. And as we’ve learned over the years, it’s the perfect recipe for elopements that are intimate, personal, and downright magical. From “Is This Possible?” to Reality

Some people ask if it’s complicated. And yes — it takes planning. But with the right guides, it’s also seamless and fun. From checking in at our base to stepping onto a glacier in the glow of afternoon light, every detail is curated to make the day flow effortlessly while keeping the focus where it belongs: on love, laughter, and the kind of memories that stick.

Why We Love It

We love guiding glacier elopements because the joy is contagious. Watching a couple take their vows on ice that’s thousands of years old, or see the awe in their eyes as a helicopter lifts off and the mountains stretch below, reminds us why we became guides in the first place: to share Alaska’s wild beauty with people who really want to experience it.
