Planning a trip to Alaska can feel overwhelming—but it doesn’t have to be. With the Matanuska Signature Experience, everything is thoughtfully built around you. Your Adventure Coordinator works with you ahead of time to craft a personalized itinerary, so when you arrive, all that’s left to do is experience it.
From there, the adventure unfolds across Alaska’s wild landscape—by air, on foot, and beyond. You’ll land by helicopter on a remote glacier, spend a night surrounded by ice, then step into a full day of deep exploration with our Advanced Heli Explorer.
When your time on the ice comes to an end, transition back to land for a night at Alpenglow Luxury Camping, where comfort and incredible views await. From there, your trip can continue with rafting, ATV tours, or simply soaking it all in.

Full Glacier Immersion
Start your journey by lifting off in a helicopter and landing on the Matanuska Glacier—your home for the night.
Settle into your deluxe canvas tent with plush bedding, enjoy a welcome drink and a thoughtfully prepared dinner, and take in the quiet, surreal beauty of the glacier stretching in every direction. This is more than camping—it’s a rare chance to truly live on the ice.
Of course no camping adventure is complete without some delicious food.
Dinner and breakfast are included with your stay, and we pride ourselves on tasty fuel for your adventure. From homemade granola to reindeer sausage, our menu has something for almost everyone. Please note that our remote camp is supplied only by helicopter, so options are necessarily limited.
Important: Cross contamination of foods may be impossible to avoid, and those with serious anaphylactic allergies should consider the risks. Emergency evacuation may be delayed or impossible.

Wake up on the glacier and step straight into your adventure.
With hours on the ice and one of our expert guides leading the way, you’ll move through crevasses, blue pools, and constantly shifting terrain. This is full-day, immersive exploration—the kind of experience our guides choose on their days off. No long approach, no crowds—just you and the glacier.

Alpenglow Retreat
After your time on the ice, return to land—but not to ordinary accommodations.
At Alpenglow Luxury Camping, you’ll step into a different side of Alaska—one that blends wild scenery with thoughtful comfort. Settle into your canvas tent, unwind after a full day of glacier exploration, and take in sweeping views of the surrounding mountains.
End the day with a soak in the cedar hot tub and a slower pace that lets it all sink in.

- Mountain View Tents – Cozy, comfortable, and perfectly positioned for mountain views. A simple, elevated basecamp with plush bedding and everything you need to relax.

Payment and Cancellation Policies
When you book online, you’ll be prompted to pay a $200 deposit to secure your reservation.
This deposit is not refundable but is transferable to another MICA activity within the same operating season.
Within 48 hours, one of our Adventure Coordinators will reach out to start tailoring your itinerary.
The final payment is due at least 30 days in advance of your trip.
